In autumn 2024, Iconic House and Iconic Foundation launched their first artist residency at Les Hauts de Gordes, reinforcing their commitment to making contemporary art a living part of the Iconic House experience while supporting creation in all its forms through meaningful spaces for artistic exploration and expression.
For ten days, seven emerging artists working across different disciplines, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, video, and dance, were invited to live and create freely within the property, with no imposed theme. Selected from nearly 250 applications by a distinguished jury of cultural and artistic leaders, the artists were given the time and space to focus entirely on research and creation.
Set in Gordes, a village long associated with artistic inspiration, the residency aimed to encourage meaningful connections between artists, place, and environment. At the end of the program, each artist donated a work created during the residency to join the Iconic House collection and be displayed across its Houses.
This first residency marks the beginning of a long-term initiative by Iconic Foundation to support emerging talent and embed artistic creation, memory, and human connection at the heart of the Iconic House collection.
